Education Became My Bridge to Reinvention

My educational journey has never been simply about collecting degrees or credentials. Education became the way I learned to navigate uncertainty, create opportunities, and continually reinvent myself. There were times in my life when I didn't know exactly what the next chapter would look like. During those periods, I kept returning to education. Learning gave me confidence. It gave me options. And perhaps most importantly, it taught me that I didn't have to wait for someone else to determine what I was capable of becoming.

That journey eventually led me to earn my doctorate with a specialization in career planning and to build a career as an executive, educator, career strategist and leader. But one of my greatest realizations came later: everything I had learned wasn't meant only to help me succeed inside organizations. I could use that knowledge to create something of my own.

That's what entrepreneurship has allowed me to do. I began transforming decades of education, research and professional experience into books, career-development programs, coaching, assessments and technology designed to help other people navigate change and create opportunities for themselves. And now in midlife, I'm still creating, still learning and still reinventing.

If there is one lesson I would share from my educational and entrepreneurial journey, it is this: education should be more than preparing you for a job. It should expand your understanding of what is possible for your life.

Sometimes the greatest return on your education isn't the position you obtain. It's the person you become, and what you decide to create with everything you've learned.
